We played a gig at the Night and Day Cafe in Manchester on Monday. I very much liked the venue itself. It had a dirty-Nu-York-rock-CBGBs feeling to it. We just didn't fit in. We played a short set, which felt a little restrictive, and didn't really give us chance to improvise and experiment (which is what we do best).
More gigs coming up soon: Gems this Saturday, and then in Burnley the following week. As the old cliche goes, we're learning the craft.
Also, the band has a website now: it's www.thehammonned.com. At the mo, there's just some downloadable songs, but we're hoping to develop it.
Davethedrummer also has started his new blog. He's one of the most creative people I know, and certainly the funniest, so it should be worth a look.
