Too Much

Like a lake, floating on a trolley,
Like a log poised upon a snake,
A hundred thousand days pass on regardless
Wind on thru’ the hills
It’s all too much.

A hungry dog spies an empty carton,
A thousand kids protesting at the Gap
A middle-aged man still can’t get a hard-on
Crying to his wife
It’s all too much

Too much aggravation in the city
Too much rich food makes a person sick
Too much time to sign and seal a letter
Too much in too much can be too much.

Waitin’ for the day that you’ll remember
Waitin’ for the time to reconvene
You can spend your lifetime realising,
Wind on thru’ the hills
It’s all too much.
